The Case Management program at Open Door
provides quality case management for all of the local community shelters.
Shelters serviced by the program are the Open Door Transition Home for
Women in Crisis, The House of Mercy, Damascus Way, and the Columbus
Alliance for Battered Women. Assistance is provided with job
placement, housing, health care, child care, counseling and education.
The program provides assistance with rental deposits, utility deposits,
first months rent, household necessities and furniture. Open Door
works with the Pastoral Institute of Columbus, Georgia to provide quality
counseling for all participants in our program. Clients are also
eligible to receive medical services from Community Health Care free of
charge. For a period of up to eight weeks, assistance with the cost
of childcare services is available to clients who are employed or enrolled
in secondary education.
Open Door Community House, Inc. employs a holistic approach to bring
about healing in the lives of the program participants as they become
