  Children and Youth Program

The Children and Youth Programs of Open Door offer safe and fun structured activities for at-risk children and youth ages 5 to 18 within the downtown, Bibb City and Second Avenue communities.  This ministry to "latch key" children is the cornerstone of Open Door programming.

After School and Summer programs provide field trips, academic enrichment, and recreational activities.

Children

The after school program hours are from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Through math and reading tutorials, arts and crafts, a recreation program, cultural activities and Bible studies, children are allowed to grow and learn, beyond the school setting.  Parents can be at ease, knowing their child is with caring staff interested in their child.

Youth

Similarly, the youth have a structured recreational program from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m.  Youth can play foosball, air hockey, basketball, volleyball or billiards.  There is also an area set aside for video games, board games and to do homework.  Open Door is committed to providing safe alternative activities to the teens of this community.

Additional Activities

  • Kid's Cafe Monday through Thursday at 4:00 p.m.

  • Sharing Christmas

  • Spring Break Camp

  • Summer Academy (full-day program during summer vacation)
