The Seniors program at Open Door Community House, Inc. offers services in
many areas including health and medical screenings, recreation and
fellowship, spiritual, legal assistance, transportation and advocacy.
The Seniors take bi-monthly field trips to shopping and "out to eat."
The Open Door seniors are the largest group of volunteers providing
supervision and management of the Clothing Bank. Annually they raise
several thousand dollars for Open Door programs.
Golden Agers Club
The Golden Agers Club meets weekly on Mondays at 2:00 p.m. for lunch
and a program such as singing, Bingo, line dancing, etc. Local
United Methodist Women's groups and other groups often sponsor the seniors
at least once per year. During weeks in which there is no group
sponsoring the Golden Agers, the seniors bring "pot luck" and fellowship
together.
