The Transition Home for Women in Crisis at
Open Door provides a structured living environment which enables homeless
women to live independently. The Transition Home is the oldest
existing transitional housing complex in the tri-city area and serves
approximately 40 women per year with housing and supportive services. The primary focus is on employment and
permanent housing. A resident may reside in the Transition Home for
up to two years with the average stay at 12 to 18 months. While
residing in the Transition Home, women are required to be working, looking
for work, or attending school and must participate in the Case Management
program. The Transition
Home for Women in Crisis remains an active member of the Homeless Resource
Network and is a part of the Columbus Continuum of Care Plan.
