Volunteer Opportunities

Children and Youth Program

        Help to:    Prepare, serve and clean up from Kids' Cafe

                        Assist program staff with arts and crafts activities

                        Assist staff with recreational activities, games

                        Assist children to complete homework

Senior Adult Program

        Help to:    Prepare and clean up after meals

                        Assist staff with providing programs, encouragement and

                            support

                        Be a "friend" to those with few social contacts, making

                            calls to them

Showering Program

        Help to:    Assist with assigning showers and distribution of hygiene

                            items

                        Assist with preparation of and clean up from breakfast and

                            lunch

                        Assist with clean up after program

                        Assist with client tracking, skills training (i.e. financing

                            management, job skills, etc.)

Transition Home

        Help to:    Facilitate Bible Study and special events and a Women's

                            Recovery Support Group

                        Teach skills such as dietary information, cooking hygiene,

                            nutrition

                        Provide financial management seminars/workshops    

Case Management for Women

         Volunteers are not used in this program except to provide assistance

              with special programs like money management, etc. or to do

               housekeeping work

The Parent Network

        Volunteers assist staff with Parent Support Group on Tuesday nights

Administration

        Help to:    Light clerical duties (i.e. filing, answering telephones,

                            typing, etc.)

                        Assist for mailings like appeal letter and newsletters

                        Provide janitorial help

Clothing Bank

        Help to:    Sort and fold clothing

                        Assist shoppers with selections

Special Events

        Walk Classic - a walk/run.  Volunteers help plan, collect prizes and

            food, and organize this event. 

        Annual Fall Festival - help with booths of games and food    

                                            (popcorn/cotton candy)

        Annual Thanksgiving Banquet - Community-wide dinner.  Volunteers

            help prepare meal, serve food and drinks to guests, and help with

            set up and clean up.
