Culinary Arts
A 20-week training program of culinary arts and life skills for persons who desire to learn new skills and obtain living wage employment. Culinary Arts has two (2) sessions per year. Students learn food safety, food terminology, life and soft skills, and culinary skills with a professional chef. Graduates of the culinary arts training program earn more per hour than at the beginning of the program serving in restaurants and hotels across the city, many in assistant manager positions. Culinary Arts graduates have a greater chance of earning living wage employment if they successfully pass the ServSafe class and exam also offered at no charge for the students in the program.
